Although I live in Melbourne Australia, a large cosmopolitan city, landscape has an enduring fascination for me. For me the landscape is not just a physical place but a realm of collective imagination onto which we can project all our longing for the transcendent. I am trying to portray not just a visual scene but a place where the imagination can travel through and create its own visual references. My work treads a delicate path between the heady allure of total abstraction and the portrayal of visual references, subtle and not so subtle on which the viewer can base their viewing experience.
